One of the most pressing challenges in clinical medicine is clarifying the pathology and establishing treatments for obesity and related metabolic diseases. The Diet-Induced Obesity (DIO) model is widely used, from basic medical research to drug screening, as a tool that faithfully reproduces human conditions such as obesity, Metabolic Dysfunction-associated Steatohepatitis (MASH), Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), and Diabetic Kidney Disease (DKD).At CLEA Japan, we conducted high-fat diet loading tests using the diabetes/obesity research high-fat diet "HFD32" and our proprietary "QF" diet on both general-purpose strains and diabetic model animals we sell. The purpose of this is to contribute to next-generation basic research and therapeutic development by providing our data to aid in clarifying the molecular mechanisms of obesity and metabolic diseases, and in drug discovery research.
C57BL/6J Data: DIO Model Research Using C57BL/6J

The C57BL/6J mouse is the standard strain widely used as a DIO model. We conducted tests using HFD32 and QF to evaluate obesity-related pathological changes.

We understand that reliable model performance is critical for efficient research, especially when managing budgets and timelines. By using CLEA Japan’s highly standardized animals and our established, specialized diets like HFD32 and QF, you would gain a clear advantage in model selection. We hope you to review these results to see how our reliable tools can help better impact and reproducibility of your valuable work.
