Product Explanation

As chorionic gonadotropin (CG) and luteinizing hormone (LH) increase significantly during pregnancy and before ovulation, respectively, their detection and measurement are widely used to the pregnancy test and estimation ovulation dates in humans. However, in the common marmoset, CG is thought to substitute function for LH, which is not expressed^1,2. We have produced monoclonal antibodies against mCG, and developed ELISA and simple immunochromatographic method for mCG using these antibodies. In addition, we have examined mCG levels in urine samples with these methods, and confirmed that mCG increased during pregnancy and also before ovulation. This product is an immunochromatographic test kit for the detection of urinary CG in marmosets, and the results can be visually and rapidly evaluated. Conventionally, pregnancy diagnosis and ovulation date have been estimated by ultrasound and measurement of blood progesterone levels, respectively, but this product makes it possible to supplement or replace these methods.
