Origin
On commission by the Research Development Corporation of Japan (currently the Japan Science and Technology Agency), we developed a mouse production system that provides genetic homogeneity and stable reproducibility using four inbred strains as original strains, and the success of the system was accredited in 1983. The strain was named “MCH” (registered trade name) after this Multi-Cross Hybrid system.
Characteristics
Mice of this strain are large, fertile, and of stable character and are easy to rear.
Use
These mice are used as recipients for producing transgenic mice, for vasoligation, or as foster parent mice.
